Google has released the Jelly Bean 4.1.1 OTA update last week. If you don’t have it yet, here’s a quick recipe to get the latest Android OS for yourself. It’s applicable to the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and the Motorola Xoom– make sure you have a stock version of Ice Cream Sandwich, locked and unrooted!
1. Go to Settings > Apps > select All.
2. Look for Google Framework Services and click it. Tap on “Clear Data”.
3. Now, go to Settings > Location. Check all boxes, and agree to the terms
4. Go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates. The last checked date will say 1/1/1970
5. Click “Check Now”, and you’ll have a 142.7MB download ready for you.
6. Remember to use WIFI while downloading, it’ll give shorter time between you and the new Jelly Bean
